In today’s episode we will look at a 3-card combo. The PoC (or Promo) version of the King of
Tyrus, The LoC version of Rahab, and Jericho.
Let’s break it down. PoC King of Tyrus reads, “Protect this character from O.T. Heroes and
opponents’ Dominants. You may take a Canaanite from Reserve. If you do, you may give it to
an opponents’ territory to draw 1. Cannot be prevented.”
This card alone has a lot going on. Its protection is obviously nice, and it’s not going to get
Angel of the Lorded before you can take advantage of its ability. Most Canaanites are evil, but
the one King of Tyrus is getting out of the Reserve is LoC Rahab. Give her to the opponent’s
territory and draw 1. At this point, the King of Tyrus has already served his purpose, but can
still be used to put more (this time evil) Canaanites into your opponent’s territory for further
benefits, or can be used for Suicidal Swine Stampede fodder.
All versions of Rahab are Canaanites, and while the II version does not display a cloud, I believe
she is still considered a cloud hero. (Somebody check me on that.) Why is Rahab being a cloud
Hero important? Jericho.
Jericho reads, “Protect Jericho and Canaanites in territory from opponents’ discard abilities.
While opponent controls a cloud Hero, your evil cards cannot be prevented by good cards.”
Again, like the King of Tyrus, the protection is nice. But the real clincher of this card is forcing
your opponent to control a cloud card. Having your evil cards be CBP is pretty powerful.
Now, why the LoC Rahab and not the others? Let’s take a closer look. The II Rahab can negate
evil protect abilities, CBP. We don’t want to give the opponent that. Also, at the time of this
recording, Joshua decks are pretty prominent in the meta. We don’t want to give more power
than we have to to the opponent. Giving them a Hero to play, and the ability to dig out an
enhancement every turn is dangerous.
The CoW Rahab is not much better if playing against a Joshua deck. This one is territory class,
and protects Joshua Heroes in territory from harm. So that leaves the LoC Rahab. Give her to
your opponent as meek Rahab, the Proselyte. So much less dangerous.
Also, there are 8 black curses, and Jericho can hold one for you without sacrificing your artifact
slot.
All in all, this is a pretty fun combo to play. Pairing it with a Canaanite defense makes it even
stronger. What do you think of this combo? Would you play it? Can you make it better? Let
me know.
